After years of having Norton, I installed AVG on one of my computers and it is great. It is absolutely free and does everything.
I will never buy Nortons again.
At first, I was very apprehensive about it, but believe me, it works!!!

8. A grey rectangular screen will open on your desktop. This is the anti-virus program.
9. Right click on the gray screen and choose “Schedule Boot-Time Scan.”
10. Another gray screen will open.
11. Choose the following circles and boxes.
Scan all local discs
Scan archive files
Advanced options
12. Under advanced options choose the following from the first pull down menu.
Delete infected file
13. In the second pull down menu choose the following.
Allow delete or move
14. Another gray window will open. Choose “Yes.” This box will close.
15. Then choose “Schedule.”
16. Another gray box will open. Choose “No.”
17. When you are ready to run the scan, close all programs and restart your computer. It is a good idea to run this scan during a time when you will not need your computer. Consider running the scan when you leave for work or when you go to bed. It is a very thorough scan and can take a couple of hours.
